Green’s Playhouse: written by me.
Samantha? I said while staring intently at the girl.
Samantha is seen staring down her coffee, untouched and I slowly moved my hand towards her.

She flinch and yanks her hand away, before snapping out of reality and apologize.
Samantha: Sorry, I keep thinking that I was back at that horrible place.
I shook my head and said, “you got nothing to apology, what ever happened to you, wasn’t your fault”
Samantha: it happened 10 years ago, when I was 8.
I could understand Samantha’s perspective on what she was going through.
Samantha: That’s not the worse part, I still have scars on me.
Me: You have to understand that, you’re not alone and you got people who care about you Sam.
Samantha tears as I said those words.
A waitress came to our table and asked if we were ready to order. I told her just coffee, she turns to Samantha, who didn’t acknowledge her.
I told her that I’ll take care of her, the waitress nodded and left with the check.
Have you spoke to Ginny, Norah or Abby?
Samantha shakes her head.
Samantha: Just Maxine.
That’s good, what did you guys talk about?
Samantha slightly smiles and said that same old conversation and our days.
She did also mentioned that she would occasionally hang out with Abby, Norah or Ginny.
I was happy about it and we got up and hugged softly as music plays.

An hour later
After dropping off Samantha, I decided to call Maxine, but it just went to voicemail.
I thought strange, decided to call her again, once again nothing, but before I could hang up.
A loud bang was heard on my car window as the music intensify, which startled me, I turned to see, who it is, it was a homeless man.
I actually recognize who it is and it’s Freddy, who am I good friends with.
Freddy is always cheerful, happy and outgoing, so I roll down my window.
Freddy what the hell man!
Freddy: Oh sorry man
Freddy gave me a fist bump and said.
Freddy: Hey man, how’s life?
Life’s doing well! I’ve told him.
He then said, “Listen, got a minute?
Of course I got a minute, what is it?
Freddy then said that bad things are happening at a place called Green’s playhouse.
I was intrigued by what he was saying and wanted to asked him more information about this place.
Green’s playhouse?
Yes, he said, it was horrific that they’re were doing to kids, his expression saddens.
He spoke about this horrible place for a while, before asking me for a ride, as his eyes pleaded.
I of course said yes and offer him a ride as warm music plays.
After dropping off Freddy, I then call Maxine, moments later, she then picked up but our conversation was 10 minutes short.
Hey Maxine? Got a minute
Maxine: Hey Burden?
How’s life?
Maxine: Good and yours?
Good and wanted to ask you something, how are things with you and Samantha?
Maxine: She’s fine
Just fine?
Maxine: Listen, I can’t talk much on the phone but I need to attend university soon but I know I should check on Sam more often.
I understand that Max but I don’t expect more from you.
Maxine sighs sadly on the other side on the phone.
Maxine: She didn’t deserve what ever happen to her Burden
I could hear her voice breaks as she was about to cry.
Maxine: This is all my fault!
No Max, none of it is your fault, you were a kid yourself and I don’t blame you not one bit.
Maxine broke down crying.
My heart breaks for her and I could understand her.
Maxine?
Maxine: Yeah?
I don’t blame you and no one hates you for it and I love you
Maxine: I love you too and thank you for calling.
Take care and I’ll probably visit you soon
Maxine: I’ll want that.
We hang up the call and feel sorry for the girl and yeah we were friends since elementary school.
Once I got home, I lay down in bed, tearing as memory floods back to elementary school.

Back at the past, my younger self was playing on the swings
