The Girlie Project

The Lost Girlie Project Tape

Nobody knows where this file came from. It was not on Netflix. It was not included on any DVD release. The filename was The_Girlie_Project_Final_Cut.mp4. The runtime was 24 minutes and 17 seconds.

People who said they watched it claimed it disappeared from their computers after that. Some people said it never existed all. The episode started like any other. There was music playing over Wellsbury. The sky was really blue. Everything looked too perfect. The colors were too bright. Every smile lasted a little long.

Georgia smiled. Ginny smiled. Max smiled. Norah smiled. Abby smiled. Samantha smiled. Every single girl looked directly at the camera for fifteen seconds. Nobody blinked. The theme music did not stop. It just got weird. Started making a low humming sound.

A title card came up that said THE GIRLIE PROJECT. There was no episode number. There were no credits. Just those words. Then it was silent. The first scene showed Max hosting a girls night. Everyone sat around a table with snacks. Nobody talked. They just stared at each other. Exactly three minutes passed. Nobody moved. Nobody blinked. The only sound was a clock ticking.

Then Georgia walked into the room. She. Said “I think we’re missing someone.” Everyone slowly turned to look at the camera. It was like they were looking at you. The screen flickered. Abby was suddenly sitting alone in the school gym. The lights above her were buzzing. She whispered “Have you ever noticed we only exist when they’re watching?”

The camera got closer to her face. She said “I tried leaving.” The camera got closer. “There isn’t anything ” The camera got even closer. “I found the edge.” The screen started glitching before she could say anything

Next was Norah. She was standing in a hallway. Every classroom door was open. Every room was dark. She walked past the rooms one by one. Inside each room was another version of herself. Some were smiling. Some were crying. Some just stared. None of them moved. Norah looked scared. She whispered “Don’t look inside Room 13.”

The camera did. The room was empty. Except for a camera on a tripod. Recording. The audio started playing. Voices were screaming. Footsteps sounded weird. Even the subtitles made no sense. Words appeared that nobody said. It said WE WERE WRITTEN WRONG.

The next scene was about Samantha. She was sitting alone in the cafeteria. Everyone else was frozen. Lunch trays were floating above tables. Milk was pouring back into cartons. Time had stopped. Only Samantha was moving. She looked around. Said “I remember another ending.”

The lights got dim. She said “They deleted it.” She looked directly at the camera. Said “They deleted us.” Her smile was too wide. The screen went black. For a minute nothing happened. No sound. Just darkness. Then there was breathing. Not from the characters. From somewhere behind you.

The picture came back. Georgia was standing in the woods.. The trees had no leaves. No branches. Just smooth black trunks reaching into a sky. Ginny followed behind her. She said “Mom?” Georgia just kept walking. She did not answer. Eventually Ginny caught up. Georgia turned around.. Her face was not there. It was television static.

She was still smiling. The audio was getting weird. Low frequencies were vibrating the speakers. Some people said their televisions turned off during this scene. Others said they heard whispers when they muted the volume. Nobody can confirm this.

The Girlie Project girls were finally together. They stood still. They wore the clothes. Their hair was perfect. Every smile was the same. Like copies. Not friends. Copies. Max asked “Which one is the original?” Nobody answered. Abby pointed at the camera.

Then everything changed. The picture was too clear. It was like someone was watching through a window. Each girl walked closer. Step by step. Their footsteps made no sound. Instead there was applause. The closer they came, the darker the room behind you got.

Norah stopped in front of the camera. She whispered “You finally noticed us.” Abby said “We noticed you first.” Max smiled wide. She said “We’ve been practicing.” Ginny asked “For what?” Nobody answered. The screen started glitching.

Every frame of the series flashed by in than two seconds. There were birthdays. Arguments. Parties. The school. The house. Everything. There were hidden images between the frames. An empty chair. A closed basement door. A broken mirror. Someone in the woods.

It was too fast to recognize. People who analyzed the video said every hidden image was different. Nobody found the sequence. The final scene lasted four minutes. There was no dialogue. The girls just stood together. Smiling. Watching.

One by one they started blinking. Not naturally. Perfectly synchronized. Every blink got slower. Longer. Until their eyes stayed closed. For thirty seconds. When they opened them again their eye colors were gone. Only pale gray remained.

Georgia’s voice came from away. She said “The project is complete.” The girls smiled. They whispered “See you in the episode.”. There was no next episode. Instead the credits rolled down. Every cast members name slowly faded until only one remained. VIEWER.

Then the video ended. No music. No logo. Nothing. One final frame that appeared for less than a second. It was a behind-the-scenes production photo.. There was an extra person, with the cast. Their face was blurred. They wore clothes. They looked directly at the camera.

People who saw the image argued over who it looked like. Some said it was a crew member. Some said it was a fan. Others said it looked familiar. Nobody agreed. After watching it times people stopped trying to figure out who it was. The original file has never been found again.

Whether it was a fan project, a hoax or a horror story remains unknown.. Every few years someone posts online that they found The Girlie Project lost episode.. The next day the post is always gone.
