When I was walking home from work and I noticed something strange on the metro floor, so I picked it up and it was a red USB and I exam it and it was in a good condition.
I put it in my pocket and waited for the metro to arrival, an hour later. I got home and it was already midnight, my mom left me some food in the microwave,
I wasn’t really hungry and I went to my room and turn on my computer, plug in the USB, once plugged in, the screen popped on and had many unknown files of some sort.
I clicked one of them and it was a photo of Mount Everest and I was amazed on how it looked.

I went to check on another file and it was a bunch of dead frozen bodies, all over the mountain.
I do feel bad for these climbers and their families and no. I won’t be posting the graphic part, the list goes on and on.
Until I get to the video and this one was called, “MountEverest.avi” however, it was an 2 hours long and out of curiosity. I click the video, but nothing happened.
I tried to click again, nothing happen, but the video was still running, so I waited for the video to start, 5 minutes later, the video began with an Ginny and Georgia logo but no sounds were ever heard.
10 seconds later, it faded to black and a scene appeared at school’s hallway, before the camera slowly advanced towards the MANG girls, but Abby is nowhere to be seen. It showed Maxine, Norah and Ginny, talking about their day until Ginny interrupts the two and said that she was going to Mount Everest with her family on December.
Both Maxine and Norah’s expression falters, before Maxine said something that I couldn’t comprehend due to the audio being to muffled at random but I’ll do my best.
Conversation
Maxine: ARE YOU INSANE GINNY?!
Norah: Keep you voice down Max
Ginny: I know you’re scared but it’s my only opportunity
Maxine: Virginia Miller? Do you have any idea how many people die on Mount Everest?
Ginny is about to say something but Norah pulls her iPhone and searches it up and said
Norah: According to Google, At least 346 people have died attempting to reach or return from the summit of Mount Everest.
Maxine’s expression changes to deep fear and terror and said.
Maxine: WHAT?! 346! Ginny!? This isn’t a joke
Maxine’s voice cracks slightly and Norah wraps her arms around Maxine, comforting her.
Maxine: Don’t go
Maxine said as she tears.
Norah: Yeah! Come to Palm Springs with us instead.
I do understand Maxine’s perspective, not wanting your friend to go to Mount Everest and I can’t blame her people had die there since 1922.
Until Abby shows up, behaving normal with a smile and spoke in a soft voice.
Abby: Hey guys? Max? What’s wrong?
Maxine wipes her nose with her sleeves and said it was nothing, but Norah told her that Ginny was going to Mount Everest in December.
Abby’s eyes widened and is about to say something but was interrupted by the bell, indicating that it was for second period.
As cheerful music plays, Ginny slams her locker slightly and heads to her class.
The next scene shows a flashback of a young Georgia, sitting on a bench, eating vanilla ice cream and I thought it looked innocent and nothing out of the ordinary.
Until, a white van pulled up in about at least 30 feet away from her, the camera pins to her face, her eyes seems to be focusing on the van, as almost analyzing the van and it’s intention.
I was getting a bad feeling about this as the door opened, Georgia placed her right hand on the bench , as well as her both feet on the ground, if she’s about to run, if she necessarily needed to.
The door opened and the man, steps out and a little girl ran up to him and gave him a hug and the man smiles as he did, before they depart away in a van.
It was the little girl’s father and Georgia looks at the van with an annoying expression on her face and she procced to mouth the words, “motherfucker” but she sighs in relief.
I actually laughed at this and to be honest, I don’t really blame her and if I was in her perspective, I would probably would react the same, most importantly, that she’s safe and okay.
The next scene shows back at the present, it showed Joe’s Blue Farm and a Georgia is seen smiling to herself and the camera pins to Joe, cleaning the counter.
Joe noticed her and walks up to her and puts a rag on his left shoulder and he directly said to her,
Joe: You know Georgia, you can think about making an alternative plan, besides going to Mount Everest?
Georgia snaps out of it and said
Georgia: Sorry Joe, got a lot on my mind
Joe doesn’t say anything, just had a worried expression and nods his head in understanding
Joe: Georgia? Think for a second. this is mount Everest we’re talking about and what about your kids?
Georgia: I’m not bringing Austin, he’s too young to go
Joe: What about Ginny?
Georgia: I don’t know if I should bring her Joe.
Joe: Ok but that’s not the main point Georgia. The main point is that people had died on that mountain since 1922.
Georgia’s eyes widened as she never realized the destruction that the mountain caused many lives each year.
Joe is about to pull his phone from his pocket, a customer in his mid forties walked up to the counter and asked Joe for his check.
Joe smiles, nods, before signals Padma to hand over the customer’s check.
The screen fades to black for 1 minute, before a photo of dead frozen body with green boots appeared, before disappearing and a white text appeared,
3 weeks later
Georgia is on the phone with Joe and said
Georgia: Hey? I know it’s been a while but I got to tell you something
Joe: Of course, let’s hear it
Georgia: I decided not to go
Joe is stunned but happy to hear
Joe: That’s amazing but what changed your mind on not going to Mount Everest?
Georgia thinks for a second and said
Georgia: I had a terrible childhood with my father and I was thinking about…ending it but putting you through this and everyone else is not fair.
Joe: Oh my god, I had no idea you felt this way Georgia and you know suicide is not the answer? You can answer talk to me right?
Georgia cries: Yes
Joe: I’ll stop by tonight after shift and we’ll talk more.
Joe: I’ll bring your favorite
Georgia smiles warmly
Georgia: At least you remember Joe
Joe: Of course Georgia and we watch Netflix, if you want.
Georgia: I would love that.
Not going to lie, I genuinely feel bad for Georgia and wanted to hug her.
The scene pins to Ginny, on her bed and typing on her laptop and got a call from Maxine.
Ginny: Hey Max?
Maxine: Ginny?
Ginny: Hey Max? What’s up?
Maxine now angry: What’s up!? You left to go to Mount Everest
Ginny: Hold on Max-
Maxine: No you hold on, I’m so angry and sad that you left to go to the deadly mountain!
Ginny: Maxine?!
Maxine shouts: WHAT!?
Ginny: I never left
Maxine: What are you talking about?
Ginny: My mom decided not to go
Maxine: Wait what?
Ginny: Let me explain, my mom was considering going to mount Everest, cause she was thinking about suicide, because of her childhood trauma.
Maxine: WHAT! IS SHE OKAY!?
Ginny: She is now and I know it’s a lot to take in.
Maxine: Oh my god and why does she have to take you with her?
Ginny: I have no idea at this point but let’s hope that she gets-
However, the screen froze on Ginny’s face for 10 minutes, but I can hear her looping the words “gets” on the background and a real life photo of a frozen dead body appeared.
I had enough and turn off the damn thing.
Moral of the story is, don’t go to mount Everest!
