Pirated Episodes

In the part of the Ginny & Georgia fan community people are talking about some files that were shared on shady file sharing sites and peer-to-peer networks around 2024. These files were not like the videos you find online. They were called uncompressed versions of Season 2 and they had filenames like GinnyAndGeorgia_S02E11_PIRATED_INTERNAL.mp4.

People who downloaded these files thought they were getting to see the show before anyone else.. What they got was something really disturbing and weird. The “pirated episode” was not bad quality. It felt like something was wrong with the file like it was punishing the person watching it for looking at something they should not have seen.

Act I: The Camcorder Reality

The episode starts with a quality video like it was recorded in a movie theater. The picture is tilted the colors are washed out. There is a lot of background noise. On screen Ginny and Marcus are sitting on his bed.. The scene keeps repeating over and over again.

Ginny and Marcus are sitting on his bed.

Marcus leans in.

Ginny turns her head.

The camera cuts.

Then it starts over again. This happens times. Each time the scene repeats the picture gets worse. The pixels start to stretch. A strange dark shape appears in the corner of Marcus’s bedroom.

Suddenly a loud noise blocks out the sound of the show. It sounds like a computer notification. The characters on screen stop moving. Marcus turns his head. Looks directly at the camera.

“You did not pay for this ” Marcus says. His voice sounds like it is coming from behind the person watching.

Act II: The Watermark Disease

The scene cuts to the Blue Farm Cafe. There is a big annoying logo in the middle of the screen. It is a spinning green skull logo for a file sharing site called “X-X-X-TORRENT-NET.”

Joe is standing behind the counter. He is not serving coffee. He is staring at the logo.

The logo is making the room look sickening and green.

Joe says, “It is getting Georgia. Every time someone downloads the file it takes more of the room.”

Georgia is sitting at a booth. Her face is all messed up. Because the file is quality her face is like a bunch of blocks of grey and green pixels. Every time she moves her face gets more distorted.

Georgia says, ” let them watch Joe. If they share the file we will live forever.”

Her voice is all digital and keeps cutting in and out.

Act III: The P2P Confession

The story of the episode gets really confusing in the part. It looks like a messed up file from a file sharing site.

The screen splits into two parts. On one side there is a desktop screen showing a file sharing program. On the side Ginny is standing in a dark room lit only by a spotlight.

She looks directly at the camera. Starts reading a list.. She is not reading lines from a script. She is reading a list of IP addresses.

Ginny says, “User at 192.168.1.42 we see you watching us in the dark. User at 68.104.22.11 you left your webcam on. Georgia is looking through it now.”

As she talks the camera on the side of the screen starts opening random picture files. They are not pictures of the show. They are black and white photos of rooms that look like the room the person watching is in.

Act IV: The Infinite Seed

The end of the “pirated episode” shows the cast of the show standing in a circle in the school gym. The room is dark except for a glowing progress bar on the wall.

The progress bar says: STUCK AT 99.9%. NEED SEEDERS.

The cast starts chanting in a scary voice. They are not singing a song from the show. They are saying a command:

“Keep the file open. Do not close the tab. If you stop sharing the darkness comes back. Keep the file open. Do not close the tab.”

The camera zooms in on Georgia’s eyes. Inside her eyes you can see a computer screen. A mouse cursor is moving across the screen trying to click the button.

The cursor is resisting. It is like a hand is pulling it away from the button.

The Outro

The file does not have an ending. It just freezes on a close-up of Georgia’s face. The sound gets stuck on a annoying buzz.

A line of text appears at the bottom of the screen:

[WARNING: FILE IS RESIDENT IN MEMORY.]

[GEORGIA MILLER HAS SUCCESSFULLY DOWNLOADED, TO YOUR LOCAL SYSTEM.]

[DO NOT LOOK BEHIND YOU.]
