In the parts of the Ginny & Georgia fandom people are talking about a weird video file that was shared on a website during the break between seasons. The file was called “MANG_first_vlog.mp4.”

This video is very different from the fun and energetic TikToks and social media posts that Max, Abby, Norah and Ginny make on the show to show how close they are. This “vlog” is like an scary version of their friendship. It shows how their group is changing into something toxic and creepy.

The video starts without the Netflix intro or music. It looks like it was recorded on a smartphone. The picture is not very clear. The colors are washed out.

The vlog starts with Maxine Baker holding the camera in her bedroom. Her face is on the screen. She does not look like herself. She is smiling,. Her eyes are wide open and look empty.

“Hey guys welcome back to our channel ” Max says. Her voice sounds too high and nervous like she is trying to hide how scared she is. “Today is a day because MANG is forever. We are making a promise. Say hi, guys!”

Max moves the camera to show the rest of the room. Abby Norah and Ginny are sitting on the bed. They are not moving. They are staring at the camera with bodies. The room is very dark with blankets covering the windows and the only light is from the phone screen.

The sound on the video is very unsettling. There is no music, the sound of the phones microphone picking up every noise in the room. It sounds like a clock ticking fast.

Max says, “Tell the camera how much you love us Norah. Tell them what happens if you leave.”

Norah’s voice is flat. Does not sound like her usual self. “If I leave the group falls apart. If the group falls apart everything else disappears. I love MANG. I am nothing without the group.”

Max moves the camera closer to Abby’s face. Abby’s eyes are red. She has tape around her wrists. She is smiling,. It looks scary and empty.

Max says, “Abby is so loyal. She knows what it’s like when everything else falls apart. Right, Abby? We are your family now. Your parents do not even look at you.”

Abby does not move. Then the video glitches and Abby’s face is replaced by a grey mesh for a second before going to her scared expression.

The camera moves to Ginny Miller. She is. Looking at her arm. On her arm there are glowing bars under her skin that are filling up with green light.

Ginny says, “Max please turn off the camera. My mom is downstairs. She will see this. She knows how to fix problems.”

Max laughs,. It sounds fake and scary. “Georgia cannot help you in the vlog Ginny! Georgia did not pay for this video. We are in charge now.”

Max reaches out. Grabs Ginny’s chin, but her hand looks like its going through Ginny’s face.

“You wanted to fit in Virginia ” Max says. “You wanted friends bad you let us control you. Now you have to stay until the end of the video.”

The video gets even stranger and scarier towards the end. The picture breaks into small windows like a live stream. Thousands of lines of code and messages start scrolling down the side of the screen.

The four girls are standing in a circle holding hands. The camera is spinning around them. The room is disappearing. The posters on the wall are peeling off. The bed is turning into a flat grey surface.

The girls start chanting their names in a scary voice that sounds like its vibrating. With every repetition their faces start to look more alike until they are indistinguishable, from each other.

The video ends with a close-up of the phones battery icon blinking and then a static shot of the four girls standing in a void. A message pops up on the screen: [MANG_FIRST_VLOG.MP4: EXPORT SUCCESSFUL] [IDENTITY CORRUPTION: 100%] [THE FEED WILL NOT REFRESH.]

The video cuts to a screen with a loud deafening noise and then it crashes.
